Literacy Day with Play & Social: Puzzles, Playdough & Games

At our momstown Hamilton Play & Social: Puzzles, Playdough & Games events kids are encouraged to play together, take turns, and use their manners. This program is less structured and kids are given choices of what game or puzzle they wish to use. Also, most importantly, moms had some time to chat and socialize with each other.

Thanks to Early Literacy Hamilton we had an extra special Play & Social event to celebrate Family Literacy Day.  They provided us with some fantastic books to give away to participants! The momstown Hamilton preschoolers came dressed in their p.j's for some special Snuggle Up and Read time.

Little do the kids know that they are learning while playing fun games. Chipmunk Chompers helps kids identify letters and patterns. The game also requires the kids to practice their hand-eye coordination in order to use the chipmunk figure to retrieve the acorn off the tree.

This Cars 2 puzzle was also a hit. The kids worked together to fit all the pieces together. When asked "Who is your favourite character?", most of the kids responded with Lightning McQueen!

Snuggle up and Read time is perfect for anytime of the day to encourage your little one's love of books.  Each of the kids got to pick out a book to take home.  They were very excited to show their moms what they chose and to get a peak at their new book.

Each kid was presented with a special certificate for their participation!  Thanks for reading with us!
