Toddler Time: Decorating Christmas Tree’s

December 11, 2013momstownOtherNo comments

One of the most exciting moments preparing for the holidays for many children, is helping to decorate the Christmas tree! Our toddlers love the ornaments, candy canes, jingle bells, and everything or anything else you can decorate your tree with.

So this week during momstown Hamilton‘s Toddler Time we talked Christmas trees and decorating. Reading about new things that pop up around the house around the holidays, all sorts of ornaments to choose from and hang, and how sharing this time with your family is so much fun!

Starting off with some jingle bells, we sang songs to get the kids up, moving, and making noise.

MANY JINGLE BELLS
Many jingle bells, jingling all around.
First they said “Ring me Slow!”
Then they said “Ring me Fast!”
Next they said “Ring me High!”
And they said “Ring me Low!”

RING THOSE BELLS
Ring those bells and… turn around, turn around, turn around.
Ring those bells and turn around, Christmas day is coming!

Ring those bells and jump up and down, jump up and down, jump up and down.
Ring those bells and jump up and down, Christmas day is coming!

Ring those bells and stomp your feet, stomp your feet, stomp your feet.
Ring those bells and stomp your feet,Christmas day is coming!

Then we added those bells to our own little toddler sized Christmas tree.

More decorating with different coloured balls, and berries too!
Practice for decorating at home, or experienced from already doing so at home, decorating (including the taking off and putting back on a few times), was way to much fun!

Our Print Art this week was of course, a Christmas tree!

A very green hand palm up and fingers down makes a great tree.
Then a yellow thumbprint for a big bright star on top.
A brown finger print for it’s trunk.
And finally, little red prints for ornaments all over!
