10 Ontario attractions to visit this March Break

Searching for ideas and attractions to keep the kids occupied and out of your hair this upcoming school break? Momstown has gathered a list of 10 Ontario attractions offering family-friendly programming and activities during March Break.

Art Gallery of Ontario
There’s no extra charge for March Break Drop-In Family Fun programming, which runs March 14 to 22. Activities include printmaking and painting in the family studio, and interactive performances by Zero Gravity Circus. Plus, kids receive a complimentary Kids’ Activity Bag upon arrival.

BugFeast 2016
Sample real insects food truck style at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory’s March Break event. Food samples include Crunchy Cricket Tacos, Open-Faced Grilled Cheese with Mealworms and a tropical fruit beverage with insect protein powder. Samples are free with paid admission.

Hamilton Children’s Museum
Young visitors are encouraged to engage their senses at the Hamilton Children’s Museum.  Children can visit the hands-on galleries and learn through self-directed play.

Hockey Hall of Fame
Kids can try their hands at goaltending, shooting and broadcasting while exploring the collection of hockey artifacts. There will be daily giveaways for kids provided by Esso.

McMichael Canadian Art Collection
Take a family tour, join the new Tots Storytelling Circle, and catch some family-friendly performances. In celebration of the gallery’s special exhibition On Paper, families are encouraged to pick up a free Paper Factory Paper Bag filled with art activities designed to engage children during your gallery visit. Ontario Science Centre
Take advantage of the March Break extended hours and enjoy the science-themed demonstrations and workshops, watch and IMAX film or inspire your child’s creativity in KidsSpark. Be sure to explore the science of juggling, the human cannonball, sword swallowers at Circus! The Exhibition.

Ottawa’s National Museums 
No matter what your interest, there’s something for everyone at Ottawa’s National Museums. Learn about Canada’s rich history, view world-class art, or wander through the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles.

Science North
Visit the hands-on exhibits, watch an IMAX film or gaze upon the stars at the Planetarium.

Toronto Zoo
Visit with some of the newest members of the zoo family including four playful white lion cubs, a polar bear cub and Canada’s first giant panda cubs. Take in one of the free Keeper Talks or visit one of the Volunteer Interpretive Stations, and connect with wildlife.

Waterloo Region Museum
Enjoy hands-on activities, demonstrations and special guests. Visitors can explore the exhibits and experience interactive games and challenges. View a list of scheduled activities.
